High Stakes depicts the  indelible mark of trauma and simultaneously, the inevitability of fate. The composition feels chaotic. Medusa stands  amongst a graveyard of her hunters. Their skin evokes the coldness of stone with just the slightest hint of warmth; the physical threat is gone, but the emotional toll of sexual assault is forever alive – haunting.  The stone Medusa head held by Perseus refers to her knowingness the death of both her physical form and reputation is inevitable.
